What is in the game
Tyrion Cuthbert: Attorney of the Arcane is a visual novel inspired by the Ace Attorney series. You play as a defense attorney who practices law in a world of fantasy and wizards. You must defend clients accused of various crimes committed using magic and use the rules of magic to prove them innocent. However, the system is corrupt to its core and manipulated by the aristocracy. Will you acquit your innocent clients in light of that? Or will you fall before a corrupt judicial system?
Experience the intense courtroom scene
The core gameplay of Attorney of the Arcane draws inspiration from the Ace Attorney series. While in a courtroom, witnesses will give testimonies that implicate the defendant. While cross-examining these witnesses, the player must identify and point out contradictions in their testimony. Doing so will harm the credibility of the prosecution’s case and put them one step closer to acquitting their client. The twist is that the crime of each case is committed using magic. The game’s world features a magic system heavily inspired by Dungeon and Dragons. Magic spells in the game have very unique parameters and requirements. Spell parameters act as another form of evidence that the player can use to identify a contradiction in a witnesses testimony.
Investigate crimes and collect evidence
Outside of the courtroom, the player must investigate crimes and collect evidence. Throughout these investigation sequences, the player will gradually solve the mystery of how the crime occurred. The player will sometimes be prompted to draw conclusions based on information they’ve learned about the case thus far. (These sequences are called “Deductions” in-game). Furthermore, the game will feature a persuasion system, where the player can attempt to convince an NPC to aid them in some way. Persuasions aren’t necessary to progress through the game. But they will grant exclusive bonuses and unlock certain character scenes.
